Product Information The Getsuruitou, sword of Akizuki Youjirou in the newly animated series Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto. The anime was set back into the Bakumatsu era which is the Late Tokugawa Shogunate between the years 1853-1867. It was the time where Japan ended its foreign policy of isolationism called "sakoku" and got modernized under the Meiji Government. Now, you can own this legendary Getsuruitou Sword. This sword is as beautiful as it look. The kashira, gold plated with a dragon`s mouth and a bell hanging from it. Unlike many katanas with the menuki in the inside of the handle wrap, this one has a large menuki outside and it`s decorated with clouds. The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The actual Tsuba has been constructed from gold plated copper to look exactly like the one Akizuki Youjirou has in the Anime series. The Fuchi is brass with dragon design. The Tsuka core is wooden with a imitation Ray Skin Same and a blue cotton Ito. The handle has two pegg, its rattan. The Saya is wooden with a blue piano lacquer finish. The literal meaning of the sword`s name is Sword of Moon/Lunar Tears. The sword reacts to whenever the Head of the Emperor is nearby or when objects controlled by the Head are close. Its current owner is Akizuki Youjirou. Akizuki Youjirou is the 17 year old bearer of the Sword of Moon Tears and in line of the legendary Eternal Asassin. His task is to destroy the Hasha no Kubi, a supernatural object said to appear during times of unrest and revolution. In his quest to destroy the Hasha no Kubi, he visits Yokohama and saves the two young members of the Yuyama troupe who got caught up in a fight between foreigners and locals. Yuyama Kakunojou and her troupe are grateful for his deed. While in the city, Akizuki senses the aura of the Hasha no Kubi within an auction held in the Shanghai Club, soon breaking through it`s confines in attempting to cut it in half; however, even if it`s head appeared to have been cut, the spirit of the elusive Hasha no Kubi was not destroyed and still remains, with Akizuki continuing in his quest to find and destroy it.
